There are some telltale signs that will indicate that you indeed have a cyst on your ovary but experiencing one or most of the ovarian cysts symptoms does not always directly point out that you are affected with the disease.

This does not mean however that you need to take the symptoms for granted and assume that you are perfectly fine. Symptoms are signs, they are the body's way of telling us that something is going on. You need to immediately see your doctor to avoid advancing complications.

I am the type of person who never ignores any type of symptoms. I have always had regular periods until recently, I didn't hesitate going to my OB-Gyn and I am right, something is wrong with me.

The most common ovarian cyst symptoms include:

- Bloating or pressure in the abdomen
- Excruciating pain in the lower abdomen (feels like severe menstrual cramps)
- Sudden Weight Gain
- Amenorrhea or absence of menstruation
- Oligomenorrhea or irregular periods
- Painful urination
- Shortness of breath and unusual exhaustion
- Breast Tenderness
- Lumps on the lower abdomen
- Increased facial hair
- Infertility

Doctors do not rely purely on the mentioned symptoms above. To confirm that you are really suffering ovarian cyst symptoms, you may need to undergo blood testing, pelvic exam and transvaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes. I did not feel any discomfort or pain at all while I was undergoing the test. Don't be scared of being tested, this is the only way you'll be able to address your condition.
