The list of "fishing lures" that can be used for fishing is obviously quite large and determining the best fishing lure is probably impossible, but this article will focus on a few of the most effective lures that I have personally used and experienced success with during the past two decades of fishing in various waterways throughout the United States and Canada.

When it comes to a lures for fishing any of the following choices have always caught fish consistently for me. The best lure will obviously vary depending on many factors including; the species of fish that you are targeting, the body of water that you are fishing, and the weather conditions you are fishing in to name just a few, but the bottom line is that when it comes to a fishing lure all of these baits need to be in your tackle box or bag at any given time.

There is little doubt that one of the following baits are among the best baits that can be used for fishing.

1. The Rapala Floating Minnow - This fishing lure is among the most popular lures of all time. It has been around since 1936, which means it has proven the "test of time". The Rapala floating minnow imitates a live minnow as well as any artificial bait that I have ever seen. This lure is made from balsa wood and comes in a variety of colors and sizes to match almost any bait fish that is native to the body of water that you are fishing. I have personally used this fishing lure to catch bass (both large and small mouth), walleye, pike, musky, trout, and even pan fish. There is no doubt that the Rapala floating minnow is among the best baits that can be used for fishing.
2. The KickTail Swim Bait - The KickTail Minnow swim bait is a soft plastic hybrid fishing lure that is incredibly lifelike when being retrieved under the water. This fishing lure mimics a live shad as well as almost any artificial bait on the market today. If shad (or similar looking baitfish) are a food source in the body of water that you are fishing, the KickTail minnow swim bait needs to be available to you as a lure choice.
3.
