So, what are panic attacks? Many sufferers of panic attacks don't even know they are actually suffering, and the ones that are already panic stricken are generally looking for some way to avoid them. They have a misconception that panic attacks are caused due to some kind of illness. Actually, panic is the result of fear. It occurs naturally in human beings. They can also occur when there is no possible threat nearby.

Actually, most people whom suffer and have experienced an attack in their life know very well what panic attacks are and how they can destroy and control their life if not treated.

So what causes panic attacks to happen in the first place?

Causes of Panic Attacks:

There are actually no proven reasons of why panic attacks occur, but most people consider that hurtful or distressing incidents, depression, anxiety, stress and phobias can cause them to some extent. It is proved that when a person is under a huge amount of stress, an undesirable psychological effect is created by stress or anxiety, and these problems generally result in a panic attack occurring.

Another way to avoid them happening is to find the reason behind them occurring. If you are able to find the reason or source, then you can act to avoid the attacks happening again. Panic attacks if left untreated can have devastating effects and can lead to heart attacks, which can obviously be fatal. You can help yourself today by just avoiding the source of your attacks and then work on treating it.

Commonly, they are caused by stress. And if a person is in stressful condition, or put under sudden stress, it will obviously cause a much higher risk of an attack occurring more frequently in the future.

So if you suffer from panic attacks frequently, it would be a good idea to try and work out the cause of them. This will then allow you to make the relevant changes in your life to avoid them and alleviate your stress.
