Weight Loss Diets - 3 Things to Avoid When Choosing a Diet

They say that you need to learn from your mistakes, correct them and move on. But what happens when you can not see your mistakes? I will tell you what happens from my personal experience with a single word: REPETITION!

The same happens when you try the one diet after the other;the same results appear again and again. Of course this is good for the diet business but not for you! There are 3 things that you should avoid when choosing a diet that can make a difference. These are the following:

1) Avoid very restrictive diets: people think that being on a diet it means that you have to starve. Do not go on a diet that leaves you feeling hungry and craving foods. If you let your body go into starvation mode your metabolism will slow down and losing weight will become very difficult. Imagine yourself starving and dreaming day and night hamburgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs and cakes. It will cause you to over eat when you can get to them, this will ruin everything you have built on! Nobody can stick to these diets for long;instead go on a diet that allows you to eat the foods you love in moderation.

2) Avoid diets that promote fat free products; there is no biggest fraud in the world than this: light mayo, light turkey, light cheese, 0% yogurts, 0% juices, 0% ice creams and thousands more. All these products hide nicely their real ingredients with different names (names that you do not find even in the dictionary!) that you do not understand so that you wont even bother to read them. Next time you purchase one of these items I urge you to take a good look in the label, you will be surprised with what you will discover! Plus with the excuse that they are light you will get to eat much more.

3) Avoid crash diets: I know you want to lose weight fast but let me make you one question: how long did it take you to become overweight? BE HONEST. It did not happen overnight, I am sure it took you a while, from months to years, so be a little more patient with yourself now and do not jump immediately to extreme crash diets. There is a way to lose weight more effectively and for longer but you should first make the appropriate changes in your lifestyle.
