Well, its now the end of week three and I have been using Diet Chef to help me try to lose 10 pounds in 28 days. Having used the prepared meals for breakfast, lunch and supper for the past 21 days I though it about time to use the scales once more to check on my weight loss. Now remember I had already lost 3 pounds in the first week so was feeling pretty pleased with myself. I had lost another 2 pounds at the end of week two. So you can imagine I was keen to see if I had lost any more weight following the Diet Chef.
Unfortunately I had had a pretty difficult week during the third week and had found it hard to keep to the Diet Chef menu plan. This was partly due to the fact that I had been out several times eating with friends. But to be honest I am just making excuses. I have to admit there has been a definite dip in my will power and resolve and so my weight had actually crept up slightly. It did make me feel extremely disappointed in myself as I felt I had wasted a whole week by not following the menu plan properly. How could I have been so easily led astray in my third week after having begun so well in the first two weeks? But you know what I am not going to beat myself up over it because it's now the beginning of week 4 and I will just have to pick myself up and resume where I left off.
That's the good thing about the human body. You have a bad hair cut but your hair will grow back again. You break a nail but in time it will grow back again. You put on a few pounds but you can go back to sensible eating once again and in time those extra pounds will fall away. Having a positive mind set is so important and the will power to succeed is crucial. Keeping on track with any diet is going to have its ups and downs and so its important to have as many positive reinforcements to keep you on track. For instance, keeping a weekly record of your achievements and then rewarding yourself with a small treat at the end of each week will encourage you to keep going. I remember when I gave up smoking many years ago I put the money I saved from not buying cigarettes into a jar and had managed to save over £1500 in one year. I rewarded my self with a very special holiday which this money paid for! Saving the money each week was another incentive to give up smoking. Habits are difficult to break so giving yourself the occasional treat makes it all worth while.
Its not easy trying to lose weight - I am testament to that! But I will not give up just because I have had a bad week. This is the beginning of another week. The ready prepared meals are still there. I need to make sure I try to keep to Diet Chef which obviously works if used correctly. I just have to make sure my mindset is focused because I am determined to lose those extra pounds.
