To ensure the success of both the wedding ceremony and the reception; one needs to take care of many things. Bridal accessories for instance cannot be taken lightly as they are very important. Here are the essential bridal accessories that you should not in any way ignore.
- Wedding gown. A wedding gown definitely makes the top of the list and scouting for a perfect dress make take you to many stores. It is sometimes easier to find all the other accessories such as the veil, headpiece as well as gloves at the same place. They would usually give you a better price too.
- Bridal bouquet. Don't make the mistake of carrying the wrong bouquet that absolutely don't compliment your dress, hair or overall style. Take note of what flowers are in season and settle for the ones that are in season so that you don't end up paying an insane amount of money just for a bouquet.
- Jewelry. Whether it is the family heirloom or borrowed designer jewelry, remember that they are supposed to highlight you the Bride, and not the other way around. Too much jewelry can be a bad thing!
- Bridal shoes. Comfort should be your top priority when you choose a pair to wear on your big day as you will spend most of your time on your feet.
- Entourage accessories. Your entourage should wear the right accessories such as the dresses of your bridesmaid, maid of honor and even your moms. The men should look equally dashing especially your groom, his best man and both your father.
The ones not mentioned here can be the subsequent wedding decorations items on your list. Make sure you take care of what is listed above first.
Here are other important items that should be your priority:
- Wedding invitations - to save yourself the hassle and costs, invite the same people to both the ceremony and reception so you can just send one invite per guest. If it is totally unavoidable, then divide your guest list into sections - guests to be invited to both, guests for ONLY the ceremony and guests to be invited ONLY for the reception. The first category should be the list with the most names.
- Wedding guestbook - You should be using the same book for both reception and ceremony. This will limit the rush for guests to sign during the ceremony as they can still do so during reception.
- Wedding album and photographer - You will be missing a great deal if you forget to hire a photographer for your wedding. Be sure you hire someone who you have seen his or her work beforehand. You may want to hire someone as recommendations from satisfied customer's too.
- Wedding tableware. You need to make an effort for the wedding tables as well. Special wedding tableware should grace the tables at reception or at least the main wedding table. These are toasting flutes or glasses, napkins, place card holders, silverware which should include items like forks, spoons, knives and cake cutter, china and wedding table decorations.
- Wedding favors. Go for souvenirs that are unique. This can usually be done if you successfully incorporate your personality into them.
- General wedding décor. Whether it is flowers, candles or lace, nothing spells out a wedding better than its décor. Your wedding decorations do not have to be extravagant affairs; sometimes, less IS more and can a bigger impact.
Other wedding accessories to consider, but are not compulsory at every wedding, are the smaller items like ring bearer pillows, flower girl baskets and wedding pens. While they may be nice to have at the wedding, the beauty of the occasion will not be marred by their absence. To replace a custom-made ring bearer pillow, for instance, just buy (or make) a satin-cover for any of your existing pillows and use that. Your flower girl baskets can easily be bought at any flea market and dressed up with a few colored ribbons and bows.
If you are not comfortable with the amount of décor or accessories at your wedding, make alterations. It is YOUR wedding and you should be the one who is happy with the end results. Always remember that the beauty of a wedding is not measured by its price tag. The simplest wedding can be the most beautiful that anyone has ever seen.
