Water Color Painting - Skills Needed in Doing the Painting

Water Color Painting is not an easy task. Lots of practices and hard work need to be involved. If you have few watercolor paintings with you then you can make one.

To master the art of watercolor painting you need some basic steps that are required.

Basic skill

They help you in getting to the root of the painting which includes the correct way of holding a brush and the most basic way to use the water colors.

The basic skills required to master are:

1. Glazed wash

2. Flash wash

3. Graded wash

4. Wet on Wet techniques

5. Dry brush technique

6. The art to lift the wet color

Basically, these techniques will help you in getting good base paintings with using watercolors. After you are completely done with the basic skills and techniques you will be using the advanced techniques for the superior outcome of the results in painting.

Advanced Techniques

These skills help you to do a painting which will be highly rated. Use them on your masterpieces when required.

These techniques are usually used for introduction of new textures in your paintings such as splattering texture or the spray texture, the texture on the wall decor, Stamped texture, salt texture etc. They provide a special type of look in your painting, and you shall enjoy using them.

Advanced skill 2

The more advanced techniques are the tissue paper texture, plastic wrap texture, using of wax in the painting, color grid and many more.

Of the techniques mentioned above, nearly all of them are used for the watercolor paintings. Always keep in consideration that your work shall be inspiring if you use them as your skills.
