Warwick - Warwickshire, A Town Filled With History

This delightful historical country town of Warwick - Warwickshire is situated along the banks of the River Avon also known as Shakespeare's Avon. There is a population of around thirty thousand people and is situated not very far from Coventry and Leamington Spa.

There is a fortune of history attached to the town of Warwick in Warwickshire England as stone tools and other arte facts were found mainly in the Avon valley and archaeologists have also unearthed twelve Iron Age forts within the area.

The town of Warwick was also a settlement for the military during the time of the Roman invasion and during that time the production of pottery was the town's prime industry as kilns which date back to the Romans have since been found.

This town has seen many occupants come and go from as far back as 914 such as the Anglo Saxons, the Danish, and Romans as well as the Vikings. This town also suffered severe damage during the great fire in 1694 which destroyed many buildings of only which some still remain today.

Warwick Castle which was erected by William I around 1068 is a medieval castle which is still very well preserved and is one of the many popular tourist attractions in Warwick and one can also view the beautiful Tudor buildings as well as many other historic and vintage structures some of them dating way back.

One can also visit the Warwick racetrack as this racetrack is also well known for having a golf course situated within the racetrack itself. Warwick in Warwickshire is very well located as it is close to the highway as well as the well serviced railways. Warwick is home to around 530, 000 people and is a very ceremonial and non metropolitan country. When visiting the town of Warwick in Warwickshire you will be met with kindness and superb hospitality all round as well as witnessing eons of history.
