Warts are caused by a viral infection, which is some strain of the human papillomavirus (HPV). It is generally a small, rough tumor, usually found on hands and feet, such as deep plantar (sole of the foot) and palmar (palm of the hand) warts. If they appear on the genital area, it called genital warts.
Warts are common, especially among kids. They typically disappear after a few months, but can last for years and can recur. Sometimes, it will be come bigger and bigger, and lead to an ugly looks on your skin.
Warts are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person, they can be transmitted from one person to another through contacting with skin, towels, clothing or other items.
The following is some tips about how to avoid contacting with warts:
* Avoid the human papillomavirus (HPV) in order to avoid warts.
* Wear shoes any time, including at home, such as public showers, locker rooms, and around pools.
* Do not touch any warts on yourself or anyone else, and especially when the warts was broken and bleeding..
* Do not share socks, shoes, razors, or towels with others, as they are not visible and the virus may still be present.
* Take extra care not to injure the soles of your hand. They grow more easily if the skin is broken or injured.
How to keep from spreading warts to others or other location of your body:
* Keep your warts covered with a bandage if possible..
* Do not bite warts. This may spread the virus from one place to the other.
* Dry off your wart ASAP after washing your hands. Warts tend to be more contagious when wet, and by drying your hands you reduce the chance of spreading the virus to someone else.
* Leave the warts alone. Do not scratch or pick at your warts because the virus can be transferred to other areas of the skin.
There are reliable treatment methods for warts. You will not have to be embarrassed at all. Many people can get rid of the warts successfully.
