Snoring, though a favorite butt of several jokes in social circles is a health condition, this is far from being funny for the sufferer and his or her family. As surprising as it may sound, snoring statistics are staggering. Nearly half of the adult population in this country snore occasionally and an estimated 25% of them snore habitually. Sufferers of snoring usually take help from anti-snoring products like devices, pills and sprays but the unfortunate part of the story is that till date, there are no trustworthy and relevant data regarding the efficacy of these products.

It might seem overtly simple tip to follow, but changing the way you sleep has been proved to bring huge amount of relief in snoring. In fact changing your sleeping posture may also turn out to be more comfortable. Because of its simplicity, majority of people doubt its efficacy and wonder what could be the secret behind this 'magic'. Frankly, there is nothing magical about it as it is backed by strong logic.

There are a few body parts in our nasal passage, involved in breathing, which might collide as we sleep. For example, when we sleep on our back, chances are high that the air passage within our throat gets obstructed. But when we shift to a sideways position the same passage gets cleared and is free from the dangling tissues. Moreover, sleeping sideways causes the jaw to drop and this reduces the obstruction to air passage. This is the reason, why many people resort to one of the best home remedies to stop snoring - stitch tennis balls on pajama tops - which prevent them from sleeping on the back.
