Exercise is essential for weight loss regardless of the program that you are using. If a program promises that no exercise is needed, you will need a different program. Exercise is not only essential for weight loss, it is essential for the proper function of your body, and to strengthen bones, muscles, and organs. But is walking enough?
Walking is always good exercise, and it is enough to lose weight, if you do it right. Obviously, you still need a plan to eat healthy, but you must also view the walking that you do as actual exercise, and not just a pleasant stroll, for it to be considered exercise.
Strolling is nice, but in general, you won't be moving fast enough to get your heart pumping and to burn off the calories that you need to burn if you are doing nothing more than strolling. You need to walk as fast as you can, and swing your arms while you walk.
You also need to walk long enough to do some good each day. Thirty minutes is good, but thirty minutes twice a day is better. If you can walk for an hour without taking a break, this will be even more beneficial.
Walking is an excellent weight loss strategy, as long as you remember that you need to walk every day, without stopping for a specified period of time, and the faster you walk, the better off you are. Finally, realize that eating right is also necessary for weight loss.
