Waking Up to the Smell of a Fresh Pot of Coffee

With such a strong coffee culture a lot of people will be looking to get their coffee fix frequently and especially in the morning when they need that little kick start when they wake up.

Obviously the main part of your coffee making will be the filtering and this is what your average coffee machine will do. You will need to fill up the reservoir with the amount of water you need and then put the coffee grounds into the filter. Coffee filters used to be made of paper but these days a plastic or metal perforated basket is used to allow the water though.

In no time at all the water will be heated and drip through landing in the jug underneath, since most people don't want to drink a whole jug's worth of coffee at once there is also a hotplate underneath the jug to keep the coffee hot for a few hours. After this time though it is probably best to throw the rest away and clean out the coffee grounds. It is actually a good idea to keep the coffee grounds and either throw them in the bin or down your drain if they are fine enough. This can help eliminate any foul odours and replace them with the smell of coffee.
