Volvo Xenon Headlights

The leading manufacturer, Volvo Company has been established in the year 1927. Volvo xenon headlights use gas discharge lights and are electronically controlled. These headlights are recognizable by the blue-white color of their light. They have blue-white color because the headlights spectrum is much closer to daylight than that of a halogen bulb.

In place of utilizing a filament, an electrical arc is created in between the two electrodes that excite gas inside the headlights. That in turn vaporizes metallic salts that maintain the arc and emits light. The presence of an inert gas magnifies the light given off by this arcing.

More than 10,000 volts are used to jump the gap in between the electrodes. To make available this voltage, a voltage controller and booster is needed. At once the high voltage bridges the gap; only nearly 80 volts are required to keep flowing across the gap.
