Vitamin B Complex - It is Indeed a Complex Vitamin

Vitamin B is a water soluble vitamin that nutritionally supports eye, brain, hair, liver, intestines, mouth, muscles, nerves and skin. It aids in energy production and wards off fatigue. It is often recommended for damaged nerves and to treat conditions like anxiety, diminished mental functions and depression. Deficiency of Vitamin B decreases immunity levels and reduces resistance to infection. The B vitamins were once considered to be a single vitamin, referred to as vitamin B, very similar to the way we refer to Vitamin C or Vitamin E as a single vitamin. Later research showed that they are chemically distinct vitamins that often coexist in the same foods. There are around 8 individual Vitamin B molecules that have specific function.

Vitamin B1: Also known as Thiamine plays a key role in the metabolism process of energy production. It supports nervous system, brain function and blood formation. It also aids in proper blood circulation and digestion.

Vitamin B2: Also known as Riboflavin. Is important for energy production and is a potent antioxidant. It supports cellular growth and respiration and assists in the formation of red blood cells and antibodies. Riboflavin also promotes healthy hair, nail and skin. It benefits visions, treats and prevents cataracts.

Vitamin B3: It si also known as Niacin, niacinamide and nicotinic acid. It increases circulation, aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins and plays an active role in the formation of sex hormones. Niacin also supports the intestine and nervous system, benefits skin condition such as acne and helps with high cholesterol levels. Niacin also alleviates various intestinal disorders, headaches, poor memory, mental illness and vertigo.

Vitamin B5: It is also known as Pantothenic acid. It plays an important role in reducing mental stress and hence considered as an anti stress vitamin. It is vital for adrenal gland functions, used for conditions involving stress and fatigue, allergies, arthritis, asthma, headaches, insomnia, psoriasis, depression and anxiety.

Vitamin B6: It is also know Pyridoxine. It is important for brain function, formation of DNA and RNA and healthy antibody production. It balances hormones and water levels in the body. It is also useful for premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, fatigue and morning sickness in women. Pyridoxine is also know to help in allergies, arthritis, asthma, autism, neuritis, epilepsy, convulsions, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, schizophrenia and learning disabilities

Vitamin B12: It is also known as Cobalamin. This is the only vitamin that contains a mineral. It contains cobalt - a mineral cofactor and activator of enzymes. It is important for nervous system, proper digestion of food and the formation of red blood cells. It is also know to relieve fatigue and increase energy levels.
