We all have heard the saying that we generally get what we expect in life. It is so true that what we envision in our everyday lives in our minds does for the most part come to pass ultimately You have the power as a human being to alter the course of your own life by the way you think and process information.
Visualization is something you can use today to start getting the results you want whether it is in the gym prior to a bodybuilding contest or, during physical rehabilitation at home after a joint replacement.
Visualization is the art of running mental movies in your mind. It is not so much casual daydreaming as it is more of a concentrated focus on a particular outcome you want to achieve. The act of visualization is something that we human beings can use where other animal species are not equipped to handle.
The best times to use visualization techniques is right before falling asleep and, when you first wake up in the morning. In other words, before getting out of bed visualize the type of day you want to experience either during your workouts in the gym or, during your physical rehabilitation. By actively getting your mind involved in your physical fitness and rehabilitation you can expect success if you prepare for it.
First thing in the morning and the evenings before falling asleep are the best time due to the fact your brain is in what is called a alpha state. The alpha state is where your brains activity is slower and the subconscious mind is more impressionable. During the day at the height of our activity we spend a lot of time in the beta wave area where we are at a higher level of mental activity.
Visualization like anything else will take practice to see results. Just five minutes a day may work for some of us, others may practice longer. The key is to get somewhere where you can relax and not be interrupted and begin to see yourself going through your workout or rehabilitation. You want to see the results how you want your body to look or how you want your rehabilitation to go ultimately.
Never under estimate the power of your mind in achieving the desired results you want physically. You have to see it first in the mind internally before you can experience it outward.
Remember it has been said that the body can not go where the mind has not already been.
