Part of Perth and Kinross in Scotland you will find the burgh of Pitlochry. It lies along the River Tummel, and is a very small place. Mainly decorated in the old Victorian architecture, because it was a place that was visited quit often by Queen Victoria.
A location where there are many places to walk and enjoy the lovely scenery. First coming around in the year of 1725 due to a road that would be built to help respond to Jacobite Rising. Than it all changed for the town in 1842 when Queen Victoria would visit the area.
Many would hear of the town due to her favorable opinion of it. Than when the railway came to town it became even more of a destination that travelers on vacation would head too. A popular location for many visitors to see is the dam that was built in 1947.
Each October there is a festival that is held in town, and it brings many people from all over into the area. The mountains in the area will give many people a chance to walk or climb and see nature in its natural habitat.
Plus boating and fishing are also two popular ways to spend some time in the area. There are also two whiskey distilleries in the area that attract many visitors. While Kindrogan House offers a place for people to study.
The local theatre is one that well known writer JK Rowling often attends. While a chance to see that light and sound show during October should be attempted by all around. A wonderful and rich in history location like many abroad.
One that you will enjoy and find plenty to do, though the city is very small it still will offer you plenty of things to keep you busy. If nothing else you can enjoy taking pictures while walking in the mountains.
