Looking for a great ELCA church in the Seattle area? I like to recommend Faith Lutheran Church off of Lake town Way and 82nd. I've been an affiliate there my whole life and my grandparents helped found the church, so I am admittedly a little biased, but we have great coffee, potlucks and heaps of fun Martin Luther trappings on display - so you know we are serious!
In actual fact we are a particularly fun-loving and laid back congregation. Lots of our members joined thanks to the strength of our sunday school program which is awfully dynamic and takes place at 9:15. Young children are welcome in Sun. services and we also have a child care program available in the time that church runs. There's also a'cry room' in the back of the church so if you're sitting with your young child in church and he requires a break you can go into the cry room and still watch the service thru the window and hear it over the loudspeakers.
Our Youth priest would probably also need me to note that we have a great confirmation program for middle college scholars and a superb youth group for high schoolers. There are even boozer theology nights for young adults (university age and up).
They have 2 services every Sun. at eight hundred and 10:30. Sunday faculty for children and adults is between. They also have a wonderful choir, an orchestra made of volunteers from the congregation, and a handbell choir. Our music director, Nan Beth Walton is gifted and dedicated. She arranges many of the pieces we enjoy in the service.
If you're a life-long Lutheran, an ELCA transplant from another area, or merely looking for a family-friendly Lutheran church in North Seattle, we invite you to come and visit us. Our guests are always welcomed tenderly by whomever they happen to be sitting next to in church, and the coffee hour after each service usually bosts flavorsome treats ( brownies and fruit ) as well as a chance to meet more people and find out what the congregation is like.
We hope you may join us at faith Lutheran in Seattle for a Sunday or a lifetime!
