Virtually Guaranteed Website Traffic With Guest Blogging

Expert Author Kristine Wirth

Everyone who has a website needs site visitors and the only way to get those visitors is to drive traffic to that website.

But how do you know if the methods that you're using are working well? And that they'll work consistently?

That's where guest blogging comes into play. Blogging for another website, especially one that's popular already will virtually guarantee that you receive more traffic to your own website.

Guest blogging works out for both you and the website owner you're writing for in two ways:

They get free and related content on their own site.

You get free links back to your site thus increasing your site traffic.

Here's how:

Using Google, search for "your niche topic" + "guest writers" or "guest blogger". These will pull up a list of sites directly related to the niche you are in that want people to write for them.

Once you get a feel for the site write a fantastic piece of content that focuses on the same kind of content that website is all about. Make sure it's unique and that you haven't published it someplace else and break it up into bullet points, sub-headlines, or numbered lists to make for easy reading. At the bottom of the article, don't forget to add a link back to your own site; much like you would if you were writing an article for an article directory.

Next, contact the blog owner. They don't know who you are or what your history is with the subject you're writing about so let them know in as concise a manner as possible. Let them know that you would love to submit a guest post for them to use on their blog and then attach that article to the email your sending them. Above all, make it as easy as possible for them to just copy and paste the content you've written.

If the blog owner approves your article and leaves comments open within the blog, be sure that you're visiting your post and answering any comments or questions that come in. Usually there will be an initial surge of comments but after that, it will wind down so you don't have to babysit that post for very long.

If the blog you've submitted to is bringing you good traffic, stick around and leave comments on other articles within that same blog and actively participate in discussions. It will not go un-noticed that you are actively participating on the blog and thus, your chances for writing for that blog in the future will increase.

Depending upon how popular the website is that you've submitted your guest post to, it could take days or even months for your post to appear. Don't let this stop you though from continuing on your quest to get more website traffic by guest blogging. One popular blog alone can bring you tons of free website traffic.
