Video marketing is fast becoming the most effective way to get a message across online. With the average US internet user watching more than 100 videos online each month, if you have a business (online or bricks and mortar), you simply must use videos, both for video marketing as well as content delivery. Videos are a powerful and very effective way to attract people to your business and build your list to create new, targeted leads.
I can't think of really any business that couldn't use online video marketing to create more prospects and customers. That's because videos do so many things at once. I'm sure you have heard that before people will actually buy from you, they need to know, like and trust you. There is no better way to create that trust and sense of familiarity than letting someone hear your voice as you present information in the video. And if you can include at least a short snippet of live footage with you in it, even better! At the very least, include a picture of yourself in the video. And it doesn't have to be a great photo, either!
You can use videos to demonstrate your skill if you provide a service. If you are a dog groomer, for example, you can show a short before and after video of you grooming a pup, complete with a testimonial from the happy owner. Are you a contractor specializing in remodeling? You must provide video footage. Start with some quick shots of the situation before you began your work. Focus on the messiest parts. Then you can either jump to the finished product, or even better, provide video updates so people can experience you as you do the the work. You might use this as a way to get people to come back to your blog, since we love to watch makeovers.
Restaurant owners or caterers can also use videos. Short videos of the chef in your gleaming restaurant kitchen preparing your signature dish would be an invitation for viewers to come and try it for themselves. Videos of laughing people celebrating an event in your restaurant will remind your viewers that they don't have to do it all at home. Or if they are at home, you'll want to show the impact of having their party catered. Always get people's permission before you use them in your videos, though. That goes without saying.
Maybe your business is a bit different, like providing legal services or bookkeeping. While people probably won't want to look at legal briefs or watch you hold up a tax return (with all of the sensitive info blanked out), you can create powerful videos describing why people might come to you for help, and what benefits they will receive when they do use your services. You can either do head-shot videos of you talking about the reasons and benefits, or you can create powerpoint videos that focus more on the information you are presenting.
At the end of the video, no matter what type of business you have, you'll want to direct people to take some sort of action. That's the marketing part of video marketing. Maybe you want them to visit your place of business, sign up for your monthly online updates, check out your blog (yes, offline businesses need to have an online presence these days), or schedule an in-home appointment.
In order to represent your business in the best light, you'll want to create good videos for marketing. There are some common problems seen in way too many videos these days, and they are easy to avoid.
