Vampire Academy - All Book Review

This review will have a spoiler or two in it! Do not read if you don't want to hear a few important parts.

Vampire Academy is a now 4 part series, and from what I understand its definitely going to have a 5th and 6th book. Its a pretty good series, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the Twilight books, or Vampire Romance books. It has a pretty good plot, and the story itself with the Moroi, and Dhampire's is a really intriguing concept. The Strigoi put a good twist into the book, and helps keep it ALL VAMPIRE ALL THE TIME. I really enjoy the relationship between Lissa and Rose, and their psychic connection is pretty well thought out as well.

The one thing that gets really old in the book is the relationship between Dimitri and Rose. Dimitri acts too old for his 24 years and the mentor, teacher, parental thing he has makes it really creepy, when you think about the two being intimate or having intimate moments. It really starts to bother me by the end of the third book, and I am really glad that Dimitri turns Strigoi at the end of the third book. I wish they would have killed him off, but he is a main character and that never happens so I deal with his character. Truth be told though, most reviews I have heard LOVE Dimitri, so don't let him keep you from reading this book!

In addition to this I really love the dialog, the author keeps Rose interesting by making her out to be a sarcastic pain in the ass, and I really loved her smart Alex remarks. Lissa I believe is too weak, but I believe that she could have been portrayed a little stronger. Her abilities make her seem to be a really strong person, but her personality is just too weak and innocent. I did like her ability to show an innocent side while still using her powers to control other people. But in the general sense, she is just too innocent all the time, and the audio book did a really good job in portraying this, with her soft voice.

The other children in the school are all pretty average, and most of them could have been any old schoolmate. I was a little upset that they killed off Mason in the last book, but I guess someone had to die to make it interesting. I also really love the Christian, and wish that he would get a bigger part in the books. Last, but not least is Ethan - he is adorable, and I hope to see much more of him in the next books.

Overall, check it out - its a pretty good series!
