VS Naipaul - India
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Recently I have read through a book which explains one of the fastest growing economies in the world better than any other and I have read this book on "India" by VS Naipaul. This is one of the great works by the author and I tend read through the entire book without giving it a break or choosing something else to read in between, hence all in all book looked binding to me.

The author has really honed the skill of writing and has presented the large amount of information which is amazing and has many other invaluable inputs and as I say the book is a great knowledge source to learn about the developing economies in particular.

Many books are found on the subject with each projecting a unique in theme and content, thus providing a wealth of knowledge on materials dealing with a horrifying scale making it clear to the fore not only the author's knowledge on these subjects but the amount of life experiences he shares with his readers and makes us almost as protagonists in their personal and intimate style that unfolds to us.

It is precisely this intimacy, this internalization of the themes and experiences, in all of his works author has highlighted a specific taste and his works like "The Limits of Faith" and "India" are travelogues and somehow I made it difficult to continue and after reading this work and here it is important to make some clarifications and differences between the books I have mentioned.

In his work "The Loss of El Dorado" the continuous references to the common history that unite the island of Trinidad and Venezuela, the backbone of the narrative, made inevitable not only the avid interest of the reader but also the "participation" in its narrative development to be possible to add and supplement some information from other sources or from previous readings, which made the journey through its pages in all bibliographic exploration under the guidance of Naipaul

The book "India", the subject of this article, is a lot of research , a detailed narrative of a long journey made by the author to India, land of his ancestors, written on a structure similar to that subsequently used in Bringing Out of Faith, by collating and complementing interviews with the most dissimilar characters and has geared to their own experiences and descriptions of the environment and their memories or personal investigations thus achieving a fluidity and continuity that greatly facilitate monitoring of the ideas or else from the story lines.
