Using Video Marketing to Maximize Your Business

Expert Author Art Tupaczewski

Using video marketing to attract people to your business is a very smart and cost effective of getting low cost traffic to your site. Just about everyone has a video camera today and even many smartphones have quality video cameras built in to them.

Once you have your camera, background is your next issue. If you have a nice office wall or a pleasant outdoor background, this will help in giving the viewer the idea that you know what you are doing. If you have the money to spend, it's a great investment to get a couple of photography lights and even a white roll up background to make you production seem authentic. Remember, the more professional you look, the better your credibility will be.

A script is not a bad thing to have, but memorizing them could be difficult, depending on the length of them. A good idea is to get 4-6 main topics and write them down on a piece of paper. Tape that paper under the lens of the camera to remind you of the topics at hand that you need to speak of.

Take as many takes as you need to have the video appear to be fluid. Nothing turns people off if the originality is not there. People will not trust you if you speak like a washed up actor.

Most times, people will feel more comfortable if you just act yourself and even if you say a couple of "Uh's." This again makes you appear to be "real" as most people demonstrate this habit. Try your best and in between paragraphs, leave a pause so if you do need to edit, there will be a point in which you can splice in the correct take and make it look seamless.

Outdoor videography can be a bit difficult. You would think that a sunny day would be great for filming but actually it's quite the opposite. One of the best times to video is on an overcast day. The light is much more even and you are much less prone to getting shadows.

If you can get the assistance of having someone video you, that's great. Even if you don't, always set up a tripod for a nice steady image. It's also a smart idea to pick up a cheap wireless microphone to keep the sound quality equal to the video quality. Using these tips will keep you videoing like a pro.
