If you're not using video in your marketing, you're missing out. Video is really easy to produce and it can be put together in almost real time. Think about how that's possible in the written word. Unless you're an incredibly speedy typist, it just isn't! Plus, with the written word you will always be tempted to edit what you've written over and over again. People are more understanding about minor errors with video.
In this article, I'm going to explore with you reasons why you should be using video in your marketing. Even better, I'm going to give some examples about how you can incorporate this directly to increase your sales.
Start off by creating a video as a bonus for a product. This is great whether it's your own product or one that you're promoting as an affiliate. Video adds value to any product and can convert buyers who might otherwise have considering not purchasing from you. A good way to use this type of video is to show buyers how to do something which is less clear in a printed ebook. For instance, if the ebook is a piece of software, you could show a ten minute case study of how to use that software. This is both easy to produce and easy to film.
A second way you can use video is to create a whole product. Why might you want to do that? Because it's so much quicker to produce a video product that a written product. Plus, a sector of your market will be visual learners. They will actually prefer video to the written word. So, you're doing them a service by producing something which takes you far less time and you can sell this for a higher price. If you're starting out, just develop some simple Powerpoint presentations and record those using screen capture software. These can be in a similar style to an ebook.
A third way to use video is on your sales page itself. Now, the jury is out on video sales letters, but if you're just testing out a market these can work really well. You can put together a quick video demonstration of a product, add a bit of very short sales copy and make sales. You can always replace this with longer sales copy later. Again, if you have a video product people will often expect to see video in the sales copy, as that proves what you can do, so seriously consider this.
Make sure that you prepare your business to run with video. Invest in screen capture software and a good quality microphone and practice using it. Even if you only initially start with bonus products, this will give you the confidence you need to grow your business with video. Once you're ready, use video as the basis for a product in its own right and to enhance your sales letters.
