One of the easiest ways to increase your clickthroughs on a website review, or in my case a product review on a blog is to enhance your call to action with buttons or images. There are a few ways that you can do this and depending on the theme that you use you may be able to use more than one of these methods.
Linking using a product Picture - People tend to look very closely at a product image and when you are reviewing a product it is a great idea to have na image right in front of a prospective buyer. Remember that is the person is looking for a product name when they come to your review page then there is not much question as to what they are looking for. In this case I think it is good to have two different images in the review, one near the beginning so the reader knows that they are in the right place and the second image near the end so that they can click to learn more (read as sales page, affiliate buying page).
Moving gif pictures - This is new to me. I have a WordPress blog theme that allows me to put a different layout on the pages depending on what the page is for so I have no sidebars on my review pages. On my non review pages I have an animated arrow pointing down at my optin box and although it is a bit garrish and ugly it has doubled my options so I am sure going to leave this on. I have another post about making sure that you are focusing on just one thing on every page so in many cases I would hate to use this but I have found in this case that this is a good focus for this traffic and it is very effective.
Buy Now Buttons - I have made sure that all of my reviews have a button on them that is a simple "Visit the site now" type button. You can create these buttons for free online and then upload them to your page and center it. I have not tested variations well enough and I do know that guys like Perry Belcher (who has a whole product based on this one button) and other have done research on this well. I can tell you the best thing though is to give people a reason and a command try using something like "Buy (product name) Now"
There are other reasons to have pictures in posts like SEO considerations and the breaking up of text but these four reasons should be enough to give you ideas on what and why to use pictures to help you sell products.
