Heaters have become a necessary appliance in most homes and even offices today. They can be used for a multitude of purposes and prove to be very handy for a variety of heating purposes. They are especially useful during the height of winter season in bitterly cold places.
Heaters are of many types and are designed to suit different requirements. Air forced heaters, for instance, are used for forced convection, radiant or resistive heating. These air heaters use a variety of power sources like electricity, fuel, oil, diesel, gasoline, kerosene or natural gas.
If a fan or a blower is added to a convection heater it creates artificial air movement and quickly radiates the heat from the heater surface. Forced air heaters circulate heated air over very long distances and are usually the best choice for heating large areas such as office buildings or warehouses.
Direct-fired heaters are highly effective because all of the heat is transferred to the heated overflow due to the simple compact design that also proves to be truly economical for use. These air heaters are useful for applications where a lot of heat is required in non-enclosed areas like for construction sites, ventilated warehouses, and parking areas.
Indirect-fired heaters, on the other hand, come with a heat exchanger which keeps fumes and exhaust products out of the air flow to provide clean, dry, and odorless heat. There is a fuel vent which exhausts all the excess moisture, carbon monoxide, and other products of combustion from the machine. Indirect-fired heaters can accommodate 'dutchwork' which allows the distribution of clean warm air to specifically targeted areas. You can even place the unit outside and at a remote location. These forced air heaters are used at a variety of locations such as general construction sites in enclosed areas and more for the purpose of initiating moisture control or to maintain dryness.
Electric heaters provide clean dry heat with none of the combustion by products common to fossil fuel-burning units. They are extremely quiet in operation and require very little routine maintenance. These air forced heaters are best for use at enclosed areas, for temporary commercial heating, special event tents, and moisture control drying.
