A hot trend in fashion among young adults that has been spreading lately like wildfire around the country is called urban street wear. If you are a teenager looking for a way to look cool in front of your friends and the ladies, then you have to stay on top of what the other kids are wearing on the streets.

There are many different types of stylish street clothing worn in the big cities, but the clothing that is common in almost all of the urban streets are the baggy jeans which resemble the parachute jeans I wore in the early 1980's that puff out, which are almost always topped off with sneakers. When it comes to street clothing for men most of them wear darker colors, while the women wear lighter colors such as pink and light blue. Most of us think that the first traditional urban clothing trends came from southern California, but they actually originated in the inner cities of New York.

Urban street wear then evolved as it branched out from the East Coast into the West Coast, which meant that clothing had a more hip hop look to it in the inner cities, but also developed a more surfer influenced look as it branched out into the beach areas. In Japan however, most kids and young adults there are really into the Anime cartoon characters and you will see many street wear attire with picture of these Anime heroes on them. This style of dress and attire is one that is here to stay for a long time. The reasons why urban street attire has lasted so long is because of its affordability, stylish look, functionality and its ability to evolve to fit into almost any kind of urban environment and any culture.
