In order to start creating and sustain a regular income online, there are certain strategic skills which you'll need to learn to make this happen. These are complex but certainly not complicated and simply need a little time and effort to implement.
You'll firstly need to choose a profitable market/niche on which to concentrate your marketing skills. It's useful, but not obligatory, to choose a niche in which you're interested or better still, have a passion for. This makes life so much easier when you're putting in the hours as working on something you love never seems like hard work!
Once you've found your market, you'll need to create a simple one-page website, also known as your squeeze page. This page should offer visitors something of value - don't make the mistake of trying to sell anything on this page. At this stage, you should be aiming to give something of value.
By capturing your visitor's name and email address, you'll be building your list, which is the most important aspect of internet marketing. Once you begin building this list, you can then offer your subscribers more items of value; perhaps a free report or eBook, or an informative video. Concentrate on building a solid relationship with them; they need to trust you and rely on you for information that's relevant and of value.
Having grown your list and built a relationship with your subscribers, you can then slowly begin to market related products to them. Continue to offer them free things of value. Remember - there is no money in the front end of a business. Every great fortune which has been made has been done so by those people who have had a greater passion for what they were giving away to their subscribers rather than what they were selling.
Always remember to treat people as people. You may have a "list" but this list comprises of real people, who have hopes, dreams and fears, the same as you. Treat them as you would want to be treated and you won't go far wrong.
There are only three things you need to remember when you're building your online business:
- A product is not a business
- A website is not a business
- Customers are a business
If you keep these three things in mind, then your business will flourish. People are the life-blood of any business and should be nurtured. Only in this way will you sustain a regular income from your online business.
