At UFC 106, we will witness the return of mixed martial arts legend Tito Ortiz as he faces off against Forrest Griffin. This is a big fight for both men. Ortiz hopes to show the world that he is back and will make a push to regain his title. From press conferences and interviews, it appears that there is a new Tito Ortiz. This new and I would say improved Tito has done alot less talking. He has stated that he wants to avoid talk and let his fighting do all the talking for him. Well, he has a very large task in front of him in the form of Forrest Griffin.
He is a fan favorite but has been the victim to much criticism by analysts and fans after his reaction to loosing to Anderson Sliva. After the embarrassing knockout defeat that he was dealt, Griffin immediately ran to the locker room before the post-fight announcement was even made. This angered many and causes some to question his toughness. Griffin has lost two straight fights and many are wondering what a third loss would mean for hsi future. However, Griffin hopes to show fans that his is still the same hard nosed warrior that his fans loved so much. This fight will be just as exciting as it is important to both fighters. They both have a lot to lose and a great deal to gain which will be all on the line on November 21, 2009.
The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale will take place on December 5, 2009. After a somewhat dissapointing season we will get to see who is crowned the next TUF champion. I believe that this title will likely go to Roy Nelson but only time will tell. Also, Kimbo Slice is rumored to be entering the cage against Houston Alexander in a catchweight bout at 215lbs. Slice will make is return to the cage after an early exit from the Ultimat Fighter competition was handed to him by Roy Nelson.
I'm anxious to see just how much Kimbo learned while training with coach and fellow striker, Rampage Jackson. He will have his work cut out for him as he faces a great striker in Houston Alexander. This is a man who has knocked out his fair share of fighters and will look to do the same against Kimbo on December 5th. What makes this fight exciting is that both men will love to stand up and deliver punishment to one another. It will undoubtedly be a stand up slug fest and we will just have to wait and see who it is that comes out on top.
