Trundle beds are not one of the first things you think about when purchasing bedroom furniture. However, they should be, especially if you entertain. Consider how many times you have had visitors come to your home for the evening and end up staying over. If you are tired of giving up your bed to your in laws and having to wake up with a bad back from sleeping on the couch, consider the investment in a trundle. What you may not realize is that this highly affordable solution is also highly comfortable and impressive.

Trundle Beds?

These take full advantage of the space under the bed. These are comfortable mattresses on frames that slide under and out of the underside of the bed. In short, you can make a traditional twin-size into two by simply pulling out the trundle from underneath. Then, once your guests are gone, you can easily push the thing back under and take advantage of the space again.

When purchasing these, one should consider all of the implications. First off, not all of them are for adult use, though many are. Consider who might be sleeping on these when you select them. Kid's versions of these are one of the best investments you can make when buying children's bedroom furniture. Most kids will have friends spend the night each week, which means either you will have to share sleeping area or you can use a trundle.

The Holidays

Purchasing larger sizes of this style are a great investment for those homes where adults will need a place to sleep. Keep in mind that these beds are not ugly or unfashionable, either. You can find metal or wood beds with these. You can also find an assortment of day beds that have trundle features, to them. The mattresses on these beds have a design to be ideally fitting, but also supportive and comfortable. You will not feel like you are sleeping on the floor! In addition, in fact, trundles keep you off the floor.

Using these beds for the holidays is a great idea. If you have a guest room in your home, for example, adding a few day beds to the space makes for a beautiful looking room. Then, when it comes time to head to bed, your guests can easily pull out the spare bed and rest comfortably.

Best of all, when you do not have guests at your home, you can easily slide the trundle bed back under the bed, out of sight. This means you do not lose all of the floor space in the bedrooms to these beds that do not get used often.

This holiday season, rest comfortably in your own bed knowing that your guests are comfortable in their own bed, one that you can tuck away when you no longer need to use it. Keep in mind that these can also save you the cost of purchasing another full bed for the space.
