Ever had a very bad day and nothing went your way? Your shoe laces are untied, you spill your favorite cup of coffee or cappuccino, and most of all, because of you rushing to work, to school, or wherever you may be going, you forgot to brush your teeth, leading to! Oh no! Bad Breath!
Bad breath, or scientifically known as "halitosis, is a very common occurrence nowadays. Almost each and every one of us goes through a day wherein our mouth smells horrible. It can hit you, me, your mother, your friend, your best friend. Basically, anyone can be hit by bad breath.
There are many causes of bad breath, however, most of the time they are because of the fact that we forget to brush our teeth, which is one of the main ways to treat bad breath. They may also be partly the result of tonsil stones or tonsillitis. However, how it affects the way your breath smells depends on how large the tonsil stone is.
To help with that, here are some simple tips that should be followed in order to avoid bad breath and so that you can speak up and talk directly to another person without them turning away from you, or you being conscious of the smell of your breath.
• Visit your dentist regularly. If you have the money, you might want to visit a dentist every month. You should get your teeth cleaned often and have it checked for any kind of damages, cavities and other complications that may lead to breathe problems. To cut costs, you might want to go to dentist that you've known for a long time. A family friend perhaps.
• Avoid food that is notorious for making your breath smell like garbage. Examples are food such as garlic, onion, sugar, dairy and meat products, alcohol and coffee. In line with alcohol, when choosing a mouth wash, make sure that as much as possible, it does not have any alcohol content.
• Make use of your body properly and breathe through your nose. Yes, breathe through your nose. Remember, your nose has hairs in order to filter any dirt and particles that may come in, aside from oxygen, while your mouth has none. This leads to your mouth drying up easily and that is a very good place for bacteria to breed and live in.
• Brush your teeth after every meal. However, if you happen to eat 6-8 times a day, which is the ongoing trend nowadays, then, it would be safe to say that you should only brush your teeth a maximum of 4 times a day. Too much fluorine will damage your teeth and will make it weaker and brittle.
• If you really have a problem with your breath, then you might want to try bringing along with you breath fresheners. They are readily available over the counter. Just make sure to buy the ones that have little or not sugar content in them so as to prevent the production of bacteria inside your mouth.
