Using a treadmill to workout and burn stored fat is a great way to attack the problem. Treadmills are low impact, great cardio workouts and if you put the machine on incline, it can really accelerate the burning of stored fat.
The only thing you have to watch is that you are creating a workout that is actually challenging to you and you aren't just going through the motions of exercising without actually challenging yourself.
The body only burns fat when the exercise is intense enough to challenge us, so don't kid yourself that you are losing fat when you are just wasting time chewing gum and reading a magazine on the machine!
Here is a workout that will burn excess body fat like crazy:
- Warm up and stretch for a minute or two
- Jump on the treadmill and kick it up to a speed you feel comfortable speed walking or jogging at
- Maintain this speed for 2 minutes
- Kick the machine up a couple of miles faster for a minute
- Take the speed back down 1 mile for a minute
- Turn speed up 3 miles for a minute
- Repeat these last few steps for 20 minutes
You will find by the end of your workout you are sprinting hard for the one minute, this is how to use a treadmill, not to pansy around and walk on it for half an hour. I like to set the incline as high as it can go for an extra challenge and mega fat loss.
