Living with a beagle puppy that is not house trained is annoying. Once the beagle puppy comes home, he/she must be trained to eliminate outdoors immediately. One should not fall into the trap of waiting until the beagle is older to do this. If you do not know how to train your puppy to go outdoors, you will be living in a heap of you know what. Don't be a victim of an unsanitary home because of an untrained beagle, follow these easy tips:

• Do not respond to your Beagle's shortcomings by yelling or becoming physically abusive. A Beagle will shut down with this sort of behavior and actually become more stubborn than before.
• Be consistent. Choose a specific spot in your yard to bring your puppy to for elimination. He/she will want to come back to this spot each time to poop or pee because of a dog's attraction to enzymes in their urine.
• Choose a phrase that you use each and every time you bring the Beagle puppy outside. Something like "Go pee," "Go Potty," "Do your business" will do just fine. The key is consistency. Choose something and stick to it. Beagles are very intelligent dogs and will pick up on things very quickly.

• Make sure you bring your puppy to his/her spot immediately after he/she:
• Wakes up in the morning
• Wakes up from a nap
• Eats dinner
• Is alone for any extended period of time
• Always praise him/her for successful potty outside. Beagles are known for their eagerness to please. Rewarding him/her with a treat will make your Beagle puppy want to continue the behavior.
