The exact model you choose should be mapped out before you begin. The search engine known as Google has really made it very easy for website owners to profit from traffic to their website. Their service known as Google adsense allows you to place Google brokered ads on your website and receive a portion of the proceeds anytime a website visitor clicks on them.
This is one way to profit from traffic to your website. Keep in mind that in order for this to be profitable, you would need a large amount of traffic visiting your website. This means that you would need good content for your audience.
Content is what will keep your website visitors coming back and will increase the chances that they will click on the ads so that you get paid. I must say that If this is your primary strategy for profiting on your website, content creation and syndication needs to be your primary concern.
The other way to profit from your website is to sell products and services on your site. You can actually do this along side Google adsense ads. This way, you are not totally relying on Google to make money.
You can either sell your own products or you can sell affiliate products. Affiliate products would be products that you sell and receive a portion of the commission because you were responsible for the sale. This relieves you from having to produce your own product.
