Going to traffic ticket court can be a very intimidating experience. When you have to remember how you are going to defend yourself and follow the procedures of the court, the anxiety can build.

One thing that can greatly improve your chances of fighting the ticket is understand the how the court works beforehand. It's a great idea to try and find the time to go to traffic court on a day before your case so that you can figure out how your local jurisdiction works.

The reason you want to know how the court works is because you really don't want to frustrate the judge. If the judge has to step you through each step of court proceedings, your credibility is going to be quite low. In fact they might not take you too seriously even if you do have a point to your defense.

The officer on the other hand who is going to be arguing another viewpoint has been through this hundreds of times and knows exactly what to say and when to say it. Their credibility is already going to be exceptionally high. It's best to do everything you can to level the playing field.

Go and take some notes. If you can't have a friend do this for you or at least ask for some information on how the court process will work.

Once you know what's going on, you can focus on your defense taking some of the anxiety out of the whole process giving you the confidence to defend yourself out of a ticket.
