Traffic Generation To Build Your List

Expert Author Dee Dawber

The money is in the list, so they say, but how can you build a list? There are several ways to do this, most of them are relatively easy to implement, some are free and some you will have to pay for. We are going to look at some free and some paid methods.

Article marketing

Article marketing is a free and easy way to generate targeted traffic to your blog or website. You don't have to be a genius or have a degree in English, just proof read and spell check each article. There are a variety of topics to choose from and your article can be as short as 400 words or as long as 5000 words.

Your article can be picked up by other ezine publishers, and this will give you more exposure and more traffic.

Some ezine publishers prefer articles to be about 1000 words, and as they are apparently quite hard to find, you stand a good chance of your article being picked up and re-published. They have to publish with your bio box details intact thus ensuring you will get clicks on your links.

Giveaways

Joining up for a giveaway as a contributor can get you many new subscribers. You offer a free gift in return for an email address. You can join as a free contributor or upgrade for a fee to offer more gifts.

Your gifts should be original and of good quality and can be PDFs, audio or videos. As a guideline, if you wouldn't sell the product, don't use it as a giveaway, if you wouldn't buy it, don't use it as a giveaway.

Good quality products will increase your credibility and leave your subscribers wanting more.

Blog commenting

Blog commenting is a good way of getting backlinks to your site. Stick to sites in your own niche and look for sites that are ranked on Google.

If the blog owner thinks your comments are spam, they can delete them so try to make your comments interesting and if possible contribute to the post. If there is a list of tips, think of one that isn't listed and share it.

Visiting regularly and leaving a comment helps to build a relationship with the blog owner. This could come in handy when you need any help or more importantly you may need a joint venture partner. They are much more likely to be receptive to your request if you have been a frequent commenter on their blog.
