Who doesn't love the smell of a beautiful flower when they are taking a stroll through the park? Well imagine that same dazzling aroma in your very own backyard sitting right next to the kids play set or the rocking chair. Do not forget the beautiful sight of a flower garden as well, your backyard could become your very own tropical oasis where you could get away from the drudgeries of your daily life, and tend to your beautiful and magnificent flowers.

Now that you have got the idea of a flower garden, or secret hideaway, going through your head you can now begin to plan it out. It isn't as hard as you think to create one either you do not have to have a so called green thumb or be a gardening expert. There are many ways you can go about doing this, one way is to spend a whole a lot of money and bring in a landscape designer and their crew who come and create a nice looking garden for a fortune or you can do it yourself and save yourself a whole lot of money.

To start you should first pick out what kind of flowers you would like to have in your garden, a great way of doing this is either looking at home and garden magazines or going to your local nursery or home improvement store and checking out what they have. It is quite important to pick out flowers you like otherwise it won't exactly be your garden. It is also important to pick out flowers that will actually survive through the season you are in or are about to go into. Certain flowers must be planted in certain times in order to survive a winter while some flowers can live year round. Annual flowers will only last one year, after that they will not grow back will perennials last for three to four years on average. Remember, the most important part about picking out your flowers is that they have to appeal to you and make you happy on every level. After picking your flowers you can purchase them already partially grown or as seeds. I would also suggest purchasing planting soil, a spade, some gloves, and possibly even some knee pads. The knee pads will help keep you a little more comfortable as you will be on your knees as you plant your flowers. Dig deep enough for the soil and the roots of the pre-grown flower or the seed to be covered up again by more soil. Be sure to plant them where they get sunlight and be sure to water them often. Then after sometime you can expect to begin to enjoy your own flower garden! Flower gardening is a great way for you to be adding not only color and beauty in to your life but some lovely fragrances as well. Creating a possible sanctuary for you where you can enjoy some peace and quiet as well as a garden that you have created with your own bare hands.

Visiting your local florist is a great option when there are no fresh flowers in your flower garden anymore.
