Bridal shower invitations give your guests a first glimpse at your future party. Just by opening them, they should have some idea of the type of event you're planning. It might be formal or casual, based on wedding colors, or have a theme.

So, to get you started, here are the Top Ten Bridal Shower Invitation Ideas:

• Send the invitations four to six weeks in advance. This gives your guests plenty of time to schedule it in their plans, and to RSVP.

• Let guests know whether this is a surprise or not. If it is, have them come at least a half hour before the bride.

• If there's a party theme, choose a design that relates to it.

• If you make your own bridal shower invitations use the party colors, and/or add clip art.

• List all the basic information...date, time, place, etc.

• If you want your guests to dress along with the theme, make sure to add your request.

• The same applies to the gift. If you would like them to bring something related to the theme, politely ask them.

• Include the bridal shower gift registry. Some guests don't like this idea, as it looks like you're asking for gifts. However, most guests appreciate having it included, and feel it is a great time saver.

• Make sure to include directions to the place where the party will be held. This is especially important if the location is unfamiliar to most of those invited.

• Add a Photo Stamp to the envelope. This is real postage that uses your digital picture. Choose a photo of the bride, couple, or something relating to the theme.

These Top Ten Bridal Shower Invitation Ideas will have your guests looking forward to your event.
