As a personal weight loss coach I have struggled with my own weight loss and heard countless stories from other people who are trying to lose weight. I've had success and seen success and here I've compiled a short list of my best tips for losing weight.

1. Find a program that you can stick with. I can't tell you how many programs I've started over the years. I've tried everything from the grapefruit diet, to calorie counting to only eating meat and vegetables. I just needed a simple solution to my complicated problem. Online dieting programs have been the best way for me to cut out the clutter (how many diet books does one person need?!) and to easily access information from home. What are your behaviors when you aren't "losing weight" and look at the diets you've struggled with in the past. 2. Consistency is key. If you are on and off the dieting bandwagon more times in a year than you can count then you are probably still overweight because you aren't consistent. Weight loss is only as hard as you want it to be, if you continue pursuing weight loss in the same ways you will never see results. Taking every day as they come and being present in the moment you are in will get you to your goal. Do good today, do good tomorrow and keep going.

3. Follow a plan that allows you to eat foods that you love. If you don't like meat, chances are you won't like the Atkins diet. If you don't like cabbage, then you probably shouldn't try to cabbage soup diet. And so forth, finding a program that is customized to your tastes is one of the best ways to lose weight. Don't eat food that you don't love. The secret to staying this is the type of food you eat and the time of day that you eat it, its that simple.

4. Believe in your goals. How many times have you tried to lose weight but in the back of your mind you fear that you will fail just like every other time before? For starters, you are not a failure and food is not your enemy. You have to believe that you are going to lose weight if you want it to happen. Visualize yourself and your goals every single day, behave like a "thin person" and you will become a thin person.
