Below, we've listed the top six Phuket events so that you can plan your Phuket travel ahead of time.
1) Patong Carnival - Also known as the Phuket Travel Fair, this celebration begins on November 1st and is a way for the locals to welcome in the beginning of the tourist season. Several different events and activities, including water sport contests, a Miss Visitor Contest, parades and other sporting events, occur throughout the island. A great way for those on Phuket travel to become introduced to the culture and locals, the carnival is one of the most popular island events.
2) Vegetarian Festival - This festival is geared more towards the locals then the tourists, but it's interesting for visitors to be a part of the ritual. Held on the first day of the 9th lunar month of the year, which is often September or October, this festival is celebrated by those locals of Chinese ancestry. For nine days the locals commit to a vegetarian diet. Those enjoying Asia Pacific travel will find out that the locals believe this will help make the upcoming year trouble free. During the festival, there are often displays of fire walking and locals can be found ascending sharp-bladed ladders as signs of their devotion.

4) Thao Thep Krasattri and Thao Si Sunthon Fair - Every year on March 13th, those on Asia Pacific travel can head to Phuket to enjoy this festival/fair, which celebrates these two heroines who encouraged the Thalang people to rally together and rebel against Burmese invaders.
5) Chao Le Boat Floating Festival - This festival is held by the sea gypsy villages at Rawai and Sapam twice a year during the middle of the sixth and eleventh lunar months. Those enjoying Phuket travel can look forward to various ceremonies, which includes the launch of small boats, which are supposed to drive away evil and bring good luck.
6) Phuket King's Cup Regatta - This event takes place every December at the Kata Beach Resort. Yachtsmen from various countries, particularly those neighboring Phuket, swarm to the island to compete for royal trophies.
