Pixar broke new ground with the release of Toy Story. It represented a world of animation unlike anything children had ever seen. The computer enhanced graphics were a combination of reality and 2-Dimensional cartoons. Since the release of Toy Story, there have been several films made by the Disney-Pixar duo. All of the films have shown the same unique and loving quality, but some have shined above others. In recognition of Pixar, I have narrowed the list to 5 of their top movies.

5. Cars is a well-recognized Pixar film. The main characters are lovable automobiles. It follows the story of Lightning McQueen, a fancy race car who has lost site of his not-so-glamorous past. The cocky race car ends up in the middle of nowhere in a town in middle America. This film is special because of its picture, sound, and story. Children love cars and what's more wondrous than one that speaks. Pixar broke new ground with this film.

4. The Incredibles is next on the countdown. The Incredibles brings new light into the lives of superheroes. In the movie Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl get married, and their superhero lives fall apart. They end up living like normal people, but in reality are still amazing heroes. Their children prove to share their superhuman traits and end up becoming heroes themselves. The movie is perfect for anyone who loves superheroes and goes beyond child cartoons. This truly is a movie for everyone.

3. Finding Nemo is another Pixar classic. The adventure begins with Marlon searching for his son, Nemo. During Marlon's adventure, he is joined by Dori, who has an incredibly short memory. Together they overcome many obstacles, including sharks and pelicans. The movie is a deep sea exploration into the imagination.

2. Monsters Inc. is a memorable classic. This movie makes you think twice about the monsters under your bed. In the movie, the characters are monsters who scare for energy. While at work one monster finds more than he bargains for. The monsters Sully and Mike must then join to help a human girl find her way home. A captivating story told from an unlikely view point. It's remarkable story makes it number two on my countdown.

1. The final Pixar film is Toy Story. Toy Story is the movie that started it all. The movie where toys come to life. Since its release, it has seen tons of merchandise, a sequel, a television series, and attractions at Walt Disney World parks. This is way more than a cartoon, it's legendary. In addition to it's stunning picture, it has received an Academy Award nomination for best song. Toy Story is by far the best Pixar film thus far.

Pixar has proved itself time and time again. Animation would not be complete without the amazing storytelling and picture quality that Pixar represents. Some of their amazing pictures include favorite Disney classics. From Finding Nemo to Toy Story, Pixar has a mark on true animated art. We can only hope that the memories and adventures continue.
