10. Hastings Park
When not in use by the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), Hastings Park is actually quite serene. This park features a large pond area and hundreds of grassy patches to lay your blanket. Hastings Park is a popular lunchtime area as it is located directly beside the Playland amusement park.

9. Kitsilano Beach
Kitsilano Beach, or simply "Kits," is a great place to picnic as it has a mixture of weeping willows and other tall trees to provide lots of natural shade. Another benefit is that Kits beach isn't restricted to sandy areas, it has a large grass area which spans out across the length of the beach.

8. English Bay
At first glance, English Bay might seem like an average old beach; after looking a little further however, one will notice the largely shaded area towards the entrance of Stanley Park. English Bay is also connected to part of the Seawall which circulates the perimeter of downtown Vancouver's coastline making it a great stop off point for lunch.

7. Jericho Beach Park
Located on Vancouver's west side, Jericho Beach Park makes our list due its semi-secluded location and large picnic-able area. This park/beach is popular with wind and kite-surfers as winds here are typically stronger.

6. Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's largest and oldest park. It offers many different spots to picnic which include popular locations like the open areas on the east side of the park or the areas surrounding Lost Lagoon. Many people make Stanley Park the beginning or end point of their Seawall journey.

5. Vancouver Art Gallery
This inter-urban picnic hotspot is located directly inside the downtown core. Take a break from shopping and swing by the corner of Howe and West Georgia St for a mid-day treat. The Vancouver Art Gallery also features a beautiful fountain display and is the home of the 2010 Olympic countdown clock.

4. Charleson Park
Located along False Creek in between the Cambie Bridge and Granville Island, Charleson Park showcases much of Vancouver's beauty. For tourists, this is usually a great place to catch a glimpse of a Canadian geese as they are seemingly attracted to the pond here. Charleson Park is also a popular stop-off for those travelling along the Seawall.

3. Vanier Park
Vanier Park is located just east of Kitsilano Beach, right next to the Burrard Street Bridge. Home to the Space Centre and Vancouver's Museum, Vanier Park offers prospective picnickers views of both the Burrard Inlet and False Creek. To picnickers, Vanier Park is the place to be during the HSBC Celebration of Lights as it is typically less crowded than the shores of English Bay.

2. Queen Elizabeth Park
Located away from the downtown core, Queen Elizabeth Park has many diverse picnic settings. The duck pond however, is typically the most popular picnic hotspot due to the amount of green space available. Queen Elizabeth Park as a whole is rarely crowded, features one of Vancouver's most beautiful garden displays and is located at the highest elevation in Vancouver with breathtaking views over the city.

1. Tatlow Park
Tatlow Park is located at the intersection of West 3rd Avenue and Point Grey Road in the Kitsilano area. With meandering streams, large trees and an abundance of space to lay a picnic blanket, this park is a great place to picnic. The reason we've ranked it number one is because it's somewhat of a hidden gem. Most tourists will flock to picnic spots off the seawall or at the beach and miss out Tatlow Park. For this reason, you should definitely check it out. This park also offers beach access via a foot path and is a great place to watch the sunset.
