To People Who Want to Buy a Digital Camera, But Can't Get Started

Expert Author Pavel Kyral

Don't buy the very first camera that you admire. Pay attention to useful advice, but don't be influenced by sales terminology.

The choice of Camera: Don't be put off by the seemingly endless selection of cameras when you enter a photographic store. It might seem difficult to make a choice initially, but do not worry. There are a lot of brands, but just a few different types of camera. When you know the type of camera you prefer (110, disc, 35mm, etc.) it's then a case of deciding on a precise make or model. These days' manufacturers compete with each other and it is better to buy Digital Camera, than obsolete technology - Film Camera.

The Camera you need: Choose usually the one you feel at ease with. Many buyers are tempted into buying a camera that they simply don't need. The complete newcomer to photography could possibly be totally baffled by an intricate digital or DSLR camera - and then become discouraged from taking pictures, because of its complexity. Remember, there is a camera available on the market for every level of photography, from basic "point and shoot" to one tackling high quality projects.

Cost and Quality: Typically, cameras are very good value for money. In most cases you get what you pay for, but even at the lower end price scale, you can discover a camera which will create acceptable results. Definitely, the more you spend the better of the camera. But don't mistake this with attaining better quality results - which depends a great deal more on how a photographer uses the camera. Your choice really depends on your interest in photography. If you want to use photography just as a hobby, you don't need an expensive Digital Single Lens Camera to start with. But try to get more mega pixels anyway. Say 5-6 MP. On other hand, if you plan to generate some income from your hobby and get published, I would recommend at least 10-12MP. Whatever camera you choose, try to buy the best quality you can afford.

It will last you longer and you will find that you have made a right choice.
