I've said in the past that I made my first million being a promoter and affiliate marketer. So the question is, are these methods still a viable way to make money online when you are starting with a limited budget? Well, with all the information products out there teaching you how to become an affiliate, you may begin to think that the market is already oversaturated. The truth of the matter is these methods work time and time again. They have stood the course of time and will continue to work in the future.

However, I don't care if you're an affiliate or you're creating your own info product, it's very important to have your own list. This is the only way to really make a lot of money, period. For me, I still make lots of money sending out emails selling affiliate stuff because I have built a list. You too have got to start building your list or nothing else will work.

So, the first course of action is to set up a squeeze page and then start driving traffic to it. My recommendation with no money is to specifically start writing articles, getting articles out there and driving them back to your squeeze page. After they opt-in to your page, what you want to do is have them land on your affiliate link, on a page that you know converts. This will get you used to mailing out things and looking at other people's copy. The best way to do this is whatever niche you're going to get into, find the people out there that have taught people out there. See what they're emailing and promoting and then see if they have an affiliate program so you can promote the same stuff that they're promoting. That's going to be one of your best bets to start making things happen.

Why become an affiliate? Simply because you don't have to put the time into create a particular product. If you were building a product from scratch, you would have to spend significant time working out all the details. Becoming an affiliate first, allows you to learn what does and does not work. It also allows you to see what other people are doing. You could utilize what they're doing, how they're writing their emails and everything else for the future when you create your product, to give you some ideas. Plus you can find out which things are making you the most money and kind of get inside that niche or area so you can make more money. Typically, when you sell someone else's product, you're only going to make about 50%. So, you can make money quickly. But also remember, you're losing out on a lot of the money, too. Therefore, when you do see what works, produce your own product. When you're selling your own product, you keep 100% of the money.

Once you learn how different affiliate programs work, it's a lot easier to learn how to create your own affiliates because you're going to understand who's got crappy affiliate programs, what things that you like that other people are doing that could help you. You will start to understand the mind of affiliate marketers and know what they need. You'll also understand what an affiliate manager needs so that when you produce your own product, you see from both sides of the fence. You're experience in affiliate marketing will eventually pay off. So, go out there now and just start making things happen!
