If There Were a Way to Simplify Your Life
Would you be interested? Of course you would!
This article will highlight some time management tips for traveling professionals in the areas of vehicle maintenance, clothing, and toiletries.
Safe Travel
Car maintenance should be a top priority. Furthermore, it would be wise to not leave this task to do too close to your departure date. One reason is because if you have to have work done that'll require any significant amount of time it may leave you in trouble and not able to depart on time. Another reason is because it's simply the most important thing to accomplish before a trip and to leave it until last is just inviting you to leave something undone because "time is running short." Still another reason is that it's needing done anyway...it's on the to do list...why not just go ahead and give it its proper place in the hierarchy of things needing done and just do it first.
Clothes
When it comes to packing clothes you have several options. You could keep clothes packed and set aside for that purpose (kind of like a grab-and-go garment bag), OR you could pack your outfits the week before, OR you could rush around like a mad man (or mad woman) throwing clothes in a suitcase 2 hours after you were supposed to leave.
I'll be honest...I've done all three of those scenarios. I really have...and not just once either. I much prefer the first option and when I was traveling 16 hours round trip every other weekend to care for my Grandparents I did a combination of that and leaving some items at their house.
Just be sure to quickly check before each trip and make sure they still fit.
Toiletries
This is a pretty easy category. I mean, with clothes you may hate to leave packed...and therefore pretty much unavailable...your favorite jeans but, with toiletries, it's not too hard, or expensive, to buy another can of hairspray or tube of toothpaste.
I use a SonicCare toothbrush (about $100) and if I were a traveling professional looking to manage my time wisely I wouldn't mind investing in another just to keep in a travel bag so that it's complete and I can grab-and-go.
Just make sure to periodically check and replace items as they go out of date.
When I started packing the way I've outlined in this article I quit forgetting things. I hope these time management tips for traveling professionals have helped you.
