Three Types of Tropical Wedding Dresses

Expert Author Jerry David

Tropical wedding dresses are different from general dresses in that they are lighter in weight, brighter in color and more revealing in cut. They are extremely suitable for summer, beach and island themed weddings. The tropical dresses can flatter everyone's figure and body type. The dresses can be worn thigh high, calf or ankle length. Besides, the dresses usually bare the shoulders and show more cleavage than other dresses.

Unlike traditional dresses, tropical wedding dresses can also be worn as evening dresses or informal beach wear after the wedding. This is an especially good bargain for brides and bridesmaids who have a budget.

The three types of tropical wedding dresses are pareu, sarong, and muumuu respectively. The pareu is a rectangular silk or gauzy fabric with bright color. It can be tied as halter style, or a shoulder baring sheath. The sarong is made of rectangle like bright silk, but it is often tied at the hips. A sarong can be worn thigh or calf length. The muumuu is a floor length dress with cap or caftan sleeves.

Although not feasible in some parts, tropical themed weddings are still possible if held indoors. Polynesian or Asian themed hotels and resorts are ideal places for a late spring or early fall tropical themed wedding.

The tropical wedding dresses are mostly chosen by nontraditional couples. And sarongs and pareus are appropriate for both men and women. The great tropical wedding works best for a couple whose devotion to one another is deep and true.
