It is absolutely amazing that in many cases of infidelity the offended party has no clue that they were being cheated on and the only way they found out was blind luck. A big part of this is that many of us are absolutely secure in the knowledge that what we saw on TV or what we heard that happened to a relative or good friend will never happen to us.
That may be confidence or hope but either way it is not something we even want to entertain. This may explain why it takes so long for some cheating spouses to get caught. If they ever do.
Of course you should believe that everyone involved in this relationship is holding up their part of the contract. However if you have some suspicions than there are a few signs you should be watching out for.
1. The Slip Up
It takes a degree of trickiness to carry on an extramarital affair without getting caught as well as luck. In this respect no one is perfect. One indicator that your spouse may be having an affair is that their stories do not seem to add up. It may be a trivial detail that normally you would not think twice about but little things mean a lot so pay careful attention.
2. Coldness
You understand that after awhile relationships tend to settle into a routine. The fire that was a huge part of your relationship early on has been replaced by a warm flame. It happens.
With your spouse however that warm flame has been replaced by a blast of artic air. The gap between the two of you is growing for no apparent reason. With a cheating spouse having an affair can start to mean they are transferring their emotions to the person who makes them feel "alive again".
3. Those Odd Hours
We only get twenty four hours in a day. To carry on an affair requires that some of that time be devoted elsewhere. That could be in the form of phone conversations, time spent on the computer, long work hours or just running that extra errand that cannot wait. Keep track of how your significant other is spending their time.
