Things You Can Do to Sell Your Home Quicker

Its getting into the tough season for selling your home. Here are some easy tips to improve the chances your home sells:

1. Clean up your lawn and garden. The lawn and landscaping are the first things that a buyer will see. Make sure that they look good.

2. Make things neutral. While you may like the magenta paint and wallpaper, most buyer will prefer neutral colors. Make your house color as basic as possible to avoid turning off potential buyers.

3. Clear out clutter. It goes without saying that any trash, broken items, or stained fabric should be removed. Make sure that you also remove excess furniture. You want to show as much space as possible. Leave some furniture to allow buyers to see some possibilities for rooms, but make it sparse.

4. Remove personal items. Your home should not have any personal photos. Having too many personal items makes it difficult for buyers to envision themselves living there.

5. Make sure that pets are managed. No one wants to walk into a home and have a barking dog or hissing cat. Make sure that your pet is caged and out of sight. Also make sure that their odor is removed as well.

6. Make things smell nice. Have some fresh baked cookies smell going, or some subtle potpourri. After years of living in a house, it can be hard to know if there is a scent or not. Don't leave anything to chance.

The housing market can be competitive, but keeping these tips in mind can tilt the sales odds in your favor.
