I want to talk about some truths that have really changed and shaped the lives of many people, both living and dead. In this race of riches and wealth, we must know that the world is demanding for new ideas, new ways of doing things, new leaders, new methods of marketing, etc. At the head of all these, one must have a burning desire in order to possess what one wants.
In this case, a specialized knowledge of what you want is necessary. The payroll of most universities has proved that specialized knowledge is one of the best and cheapest forms of service that may be had. I remember two great men who were products of specialized knowledge - Thomas A. Edison and Henry Ford. Thomas had only three months of schooling during his entire life, yet he did not lack education, neither did he die poor. Henry Ford had less than sixth grade schooling but he managed to do pretty well by himself, financially.
However, the goal towards which you are working, will help determine what knowledge you need. There are many ways through which one can acquire knowledge. Though the saying, "No knowledge is a waste", yet a lot of people have acquired some kinds of knowledge they never bothered to use. The essence of knowledge acquisition is for organizational use and a definite purpose through practical plans. Knowledge is useless when it cannot be gained from its application toward some worthy end.
People, who feel they have a great impact to make, always try to build up themselves through specialized knowledge. There are about five dependable sources of knowledge that can be of great help to any sincere seeker.
1. Experience - Experience is the best teacher. Whatever you have experience on you can manage and control. When you are well educated, well informed about a matter, it looks no more strange to you, and so, you can handle it and make something out of it. Experience is a great way to build up knowledge.
2. Alliance - People acquire knowledge through cooperation with others. People have a way of influencing and building up their friends and colleagues. Great minds create great impacts on others through association. A good number of people have come up well refined and highly educated through their association with other great minds.
3. Conventional Institutions - People, who pass through some colleges and universities, come out with good testimonials. They got knowledge and empowerment through persistence and hardwork. The school environment equally is a great teacher; hence it creates the opportunity for people to interact with themselves.
4. Libraries - The libraries, whether public or private, impact knowledge through books and periodicals in which may be found all the knowledge organized by civilization.
5. Special Courses - There are other special training courses available to the reach of every individual. People organize these courses to help those who ordinarily could not have such education. This is made possible most of the time, to help people handle and manage their time effectively. People have passed through night schools or had some kind of home studies that do not interfere with their jobs.
Finally, specialized knowledge is one of the unchanging truths of our changing world. Specialization is the order of the day, that is why you still see successful men, in all callings, going on to acquire specialized knowledge related to their major purpose, business or profession.
