The Ultimate in Vacation Fun - Jet Ski and Sea Doo Rentals
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

In a stupor as to what you might plan for vacation this year? How about considering the benefits of jet skiing for the entire family? Many scenic and rustic destinations can accommodate the visitor who wants to participate in this fun, exhilarating sport's activity. There are a number of jet ski rental places located at marinas that offer jet ski and Sea Doo rentals. What a fun activity to include in such activities as hiking or merely relaxing around a campfire. To embark on such an adventure though, first it might be helpful to know a little more about personal watercrafts (PWCs) as well as their manufacturers and the type of people who ride them.

The PWC Defined
The personal watercraft or PWC is manufactured with an inboard type of motor. In addition a jet pump gives it the means to travel at speeds that can range as high as 55 m.p.h. or more. Jet ski is a generic term used for a personal watercraft as well as a trademark registered name of a PWC built by Kawasaki. Waverunner is also a generic name used by people when referring to personal watercrafts. The trademarked name, "WaveRunner," is built by Yamaha. Sea Doo is manufactured by Bombardier and the Aqua Trax is made by Honda.

A Popular Choice
Statistics show that approximately 20 million people in the U.S. take part in jet skiing on an annual basis. Watercrafts come in stand-up and sit-down models with the majority of participants choosing three-seat and four-seat PWCs. The stand-up model is normally referred to as a solo craft while the sit-down model is known as a sport craft. Most beginners and families like to rent the sport crafts from participating centers for boat and jet ski rentals because the rental rate for these PWC's is substantially lower than opting for a jet ski rental of several stand-up models. In addition the sport crafts offer more room for storage. Also, many places that provide daily jet ski rentals will not charge for extra passengers.

Rental Costs
The cost of jet ski rentals is relative to where you want to rent one. If you want to save some money, you're probably the best off if you rent from a shop that rents PWC's. However, there's just one "hitch," and that's the fact you have to provide the equipment to tow them to the beach or lake yourself. Therefore, you might not mind forking a little more money over by choosing to patronize one of the marinas where you stay and finding a place that offers jet ski rentals there.

Convenience
Choosing a jet ski rental to explore a lake is a more cost-effective option than chartering a boat. With upgraded technologies, the "skis" offer ease of handling. They also provide a smoother ride with their direct injection engines giving them the added boost they need to glide over the waves effortlessly.

PWC Vacations Open the Door to Family Fun
There are a great many areas in the U.S. that offer PWC's to rent. Check out their facilities and rent one or two. By doing so, you'll no doubt create a "wave" of family fun.
