The Truth Behind of Your Regular Wine Myths

When dealing with wine, people tend to create ideas to make wines really a class of its own. As such, these ideas give the wine its classy image due to the many stories that surround it. Unlike any other table stuff, which exists as it is without that mystifying tales, the wine has comfortably bubbled in its own myths. Many believe it, some doubt it.

The truth is, through the years of getting a first-hand familiarity with wines, these myths have slowly unfolded through the people. The end-users of wines have made the final verdict about these myths.  Here are some regular wine myths and what people have unfolded:

1. Wine improves with age - The time of waiting for wines to age within a certain time frame is what makes wine improve from the day it was bottled. When it reaches its age, it turns into a fine wine. White wines are ripe for drinking within one to two years, while reds are improved within two to three years of the vintage date on the bottle. When wine reaches its age, that is the best time to taste and drink that wine. It couldn't do more beyond that. Some wines that get better with age are the Italian three B's ( Brunella, Barbaresco, and Barolo), French burgundy and Bordeaux, French sauternes, and California cabernets.

2. French wines are the best - Nowadays, wine-producing countries are producing fine wine at par with the classic French wine. Wine-producers have ultimately mastered their trade of producing fine wine. This goes, too, for those growing grapes for wine-making. Modern science has upgraded the quality of  vineyard technology that would enhance the taste of the fruit. Try tasting the fine wines from the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Spain and Italy.

3. Drink red wine with red meat only - Some people have discovered that the dictates on ones taste have covered the truth. Others now know that what is best is what tastes best with one's meat or fish. Now, that settles it.

4. Wine mixed with beer gives a rough hang-over  - This myth is blaming the mixture of two kinds of drinks with alcohol. People blame the combination of different bodies rather than on the common alcohol content they have. Loving the taste of both, you drink enough of each and mathematically, one plus one equals two. So, the alcohol quantity gives the hang-over, not the combination of classes.
